Latest Wine Version Tested: | 5.11-staging |
Maintainers: About Maintainership
What works
The downloaded installer/downloader was tested with (5.0 and
5.11-staging). You can run it in your system wine and after it is done
move the complete directory to your gaming prefix.
Without dxvk only the small maps work (dungeon lobbies, cities), the
great area maps become extremely laggy. On older wine versions they
still work (<=3.14). On 3.10-3.13 the game works but sometimes
crashes. On 3.14 played for hours without any problem.
Dxvk works extremely well on higher resolutions (3.14 and 5.11, 5.11-staging).
The fonts need to installed. Didn't knew which one so I used
winetricks to install all fonts on my system wine and copied the
/windows/fonts to the gaming prefix /windows/fonts.
After reading around they are msgothic.ttc and msmincho.ttc, adding them to the /fonts directory made the last of the font artifacts disappear.
What does not
If you use wine version newer than 3.14 without dxvk the great area maps will become extremely laggy.
Workarounds
Use dxvk or use version 3.14 / 3.14-staging.
What was not tested
Played my usual rounds, went on dungeon runs, massacred demons, walked through area maps, set up store, selled/bought stuff.
Didn't get quests or finished them, no story progression.

Additional Comments
Used Playonlinux.
1. Started ImagineUpdater.exe with system wine and let it finish (few hours).
2. On POL made a new drive and set/downloaded wine version(s), before
choosing the installer moved the whole directory to this new drive.
3. Chose the ImagineUpdater.exe as the installer, let it finish then
exited from it, POL threw an error, that is OK. Chose the
ImagineClient.exe and the ImagineUpdater.exe as shortcuts. Installed
dxvk from addons.
If POL installer wouldn't start the ImagineUpdater then restart the
system. If anything other doesn't work you can try another restart...
I probably needed them because freshly installed the new mint 20 and
installed all my stuff and settings in a frenzy.
