What works

Single player mode, demo video, playing with both keyboard and gamepad, saving and loading, in-game audio, overall configuration and the CD detection fix patch.

What does not

Sometimes the keyboard may stop working while playing, what makes it impossible to quit the race without finishing it using a controller or killing the program. It's not a conflict with the controller, the keyboard stops even when you use it to play. There isn't a workaround since the game lets you access the menu only through keyboard.

Intro video (FMV) needs Microsoft ActiveMovie to get installed, available from the CD-ROM. It installs normally, but gives an error when trying to run the intro. It's useless to try with a different ActiveMovie version. Not an issue directly related to the game, though.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Multiplayer mode because my version does not support it without further configuration with a compatible card.

Other kinds of controllers, like joysticks and steering wheels were not tested, but are likely to be recognized as well.

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: proprietary

Additional Comments

The CD also comes with a patch for fixing a CD detection problem.
