HowTo / Notes

Guide for Lutris users
  • Wine Version - lutris-5.7-11-x86_64
  • Enable DXVK/VKD3D - Unchecked
  • All other Lutris options left as default.

Go into winecfg and add the application FFXIV Textools and set it to Windows 7 compatibility mode. Then go into Libraries and add d3d9 and after adding it select edit and disable it. This seems to work just fine.

As with my previous comment, go into wine config and add the application FFXIV Textools and set it to WIndows 7 compatibility mode. Then go into Libraries and add d3d9 and after adding it select edit and disable it. This seems to work just fine.

I followed your instructions, but after I choose the language and click "OK" for "Please locate the following directory", I get three error messages as the program crashes. Does this still work for you? What distro are you using?
Fix

After installing and attempting to run I got a system runtime error. After some searching I came across a post with a possible fix on this error, albeit for a totally different program. To my surprise, it worked. Open up wine config and select FFXIV Textools. Go to libraries and add d3d9 as a DLL override and then edit it and select disable. Works perfect for me now.
