What works

• Ripping tracks in secure and burst modes, with and without testing.
• Running external compressors (FLAC tested).
• Submitting AccurateRip results.
• Detecting gaps.
• Creating CUE sheets with CD-TEXT and UPC/ISRC.
• Creating log files.
• Fetching external metadata via the CUEtools plugin.
• Adding CUEtools and AcoustID information to the log file.
• Configuring plugins via the configuration dialog.
• Burning CDs from non-compliant CUE sheets.
• Erasing CD-RW discs.
• Write offset testing.

What does not

Running (or even installing) the application without installing native .NET

Workarounds

dotnet20 and dotnet40 installed via winetricks before launching the installer

What was not tested

• Ripping in paranoid and fast modes.
• Range ripping.
• Functionality from the "Tools" menu concerning processing WAV files (Compare, Compress, Remove Gaps, etc).
• Fetching external metadata via the MusicBrainz metadata plugin.
• Audio compression via "built-in" plugins.

Additional Comments

Installed into a 32-bit prefix. Wine launched with "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" as the current directory. Windows version set to Windows 7.

Tested with a Samsung SH-W162C drive connected via a USB-IDE adapter.

The cdrdao crash at the start of the program has no influence on EAC's functionality, as writing works flawlessly. In fact, it looks like cdrdao is not needed at all : if the crash annoys you, just delete the CDRDAO directory - EAC launches and works just fine without it.
