Designed for Windows, built for Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP
Program opens, records, and plays audio but crashes with page file errors when modifying settings. Seems to also crash on Windows, so likely not a problem with wine. Unable to edit volume settings from the app as the app refers to Windows audio control panel plugins that do not exist in Ubuntu. Have not yet had time to troubleshoot any further.
What does not
Audio control settings in the app open the Windows audio control panel on a windows machine. Since these controls do not exist on linux systems, the shortcuts do not work. Users need to manually adjust volume settings from the settings panel of their own operating system.
Help files appear to be completely blank. Haven't tested any further.
Page File errors occur when trying to use long filenames, causing a crash which also seems to occur on Windows machines. (Unhandled exception: page fault on write access) Particularly noticeable when trying to use dates and times in the recording name. RecAll uses the format %Y for Year, %m for month %M for minute, etc... which may or may not work correctly on linux. <-Outside of my expertise.
Use your OS's built in audio control panel to adjust input and output volume instead of using the shortcuts under the 'Options' menu.
What was not tested
Timer options, automatic filenames, MP3 file formats, Vorbis file formats, registration, auto-launch, hotkeys, help...
There are probably some things that don't work, but the core function seems to be ok. Works enough for me to use it anyways.
