Gothic

What works

The game is fully playable from beginning to end. I got mine from GOG and used Lutris to install and play it using the install script found here: htt ps://lutris.net/games/install/5526/view

It works best in window mode with the window being smaller than the screen and with 4:3 aspect ratio, mine is set to 800x600 for example. If you try to run it full screen, you may get a black screen.

It will crash many times during gameplay at random, so save often. I would estimate during the entire game it has crashed 30-40 times. Playing Gothic on a Windows PC, it will probably crash maybe 10-20 times, so not too bad considering the game is very buggy no matter how you run it. You can finish the game with no major hiccups though, so that is a win.

What does not

More crashes than on windows. May need to run in windowed mode.

Workarounds

Running it in windowed mode with 4:3 aspect ratio. Saving often.
