Myst 2021 remaster with optional VR support (GOG release)
Played the whole game start to finish in a 64-bit prefix with the default Win7 compatibility.
Game installs without issues (along with the bundled .NET and C++ redistributables).
Game runs with workarounds in dx11 mode.
No crashes or technical issues were observed.
What does not
Game does not start in the default dx12 mode.
Videos (Cyan logo at start, Atrus's message, book linking panels, etc.) do not play without Media Foundation.
Serious rendering glitches (missing textures, etc.) are present without dxvk.
Start the game in dx11 mode by running Myst.exe with the -dx11 option.
Install Media Foundation to get videos to play, for example with the installer from z0z0z/mf-install
Install dxvk from winetricks to fix rendering issues.
What was not tested
VR was not tested, because I don't have the hardware.
On a technical level the game is very similar to another Cyan title: Obduction. They use the same engine and similar workarounds are required to run both.
