What works

Single player and special ops works 100%

What does not

Default Multiplayer mode doesn't work because steam is not working. But other third party multiplayer modes work.

Workarounds

If game says there are some files missing but you can see these files in Linux file manager, copy all game files to another location with --no-preserve=all argument.

For example, if your folder name is call-of-duty-mw3 :

cp --no-preserve=all -r   "call-of-duty-mw3"   "call-of-duty-mw3-copy"

This will remove troublesome file permissions and modes from game files.

Additional Comments

While playing in game mission "goalpost", you'll get an error : reliable command buffer overflow

This error exists on both windows and Linux, where the solution is to run into the nearby house without going through the road.
