What works

Upon running the .exe, I was able to submit my Backblaze account login details, and retrieve a prepared 282 GB .zip file from my old Windows install. (I had previously tried to download it via the browser but unsurprisingly it wasn't fault-tolerant enough for such a long transfer and failed at 62GB.) There seem to be no problems with the login process or the downloaded archive - speed was good at several MB/sec, more than half the maximum of my 100Mbps connection.

What does not

I had some issues with selecting a file directory to save to, and "not enough free space" prompts. (To be fair my Linux drive is over 90% full now the download has completed).

Workarounds

I was able to overcome these issues by

1. Leaving the program running for a short time without interacting with it - I'm not sure if this was important but it was about 30 minutes,

2. Selecting C:\ as the save location (which by default Wine maps to ~/. wine/drive_c). This was inconvenient as it's a hidden folder, but I was able to retrieve my ZIP file from there once complete.
