Ketarin

What works

It loads the database of records about software installers to fetch and displays them and their details properly.

I can use it easily to edit those records and to create new records.

If the Linux computer has recently been rebooted, it will check all 295 installers listed in the database and download any updated ones as it should.

A second run usually fails part-way through, as described in the next section.

What does not

It seems that a second or subsequent run of the program without an intervening reboot of the system will hang after it has processed about half of the database entries. In this condition the program no longer repaints the screen, but the borders of the window move correctly and are displayed properly. The control menu from the icon at the top-left of the window still works, allowing the window to be moved to another desktop, resized, maximized or minimized etc.

In this state it takes a kill -9 to terminate the program.

Workarounds

Reboot the Linux system before running Ketarin over WINE.

What was not tested

Running a script to install an installer after download, as this is not appropriate to my use case.
