Works with Glorious Eggrol Proton-6.20-GE-1
by Dawid Chemloul on Saturday November 6th 2021, 9:31
As a work around installing custom proton version provided by

[Glorious Eggrol](github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases)

makes the game run again.

However for Gentoo Linux I also had to update wine-vanilla with custom use flags to make sure alld ependenceis are installed.

What custom USE flags did you use?

Latest Patch to The Elders Scrolls Online Broke launcher
by Susan Tompkins on Wednesday November 3rd 2021, 23:31
Yes! I have also had this issue. I play The Elder Scrolls Online and I play with Lutris. It has been working just fine up until this latest update for the game.
Version 7.2.5 the Deadlands and update 32. The Launcher will launch and update the game (and this has to happen before you can get a play button to click play).
Immediately after update it seems to affect the buttons of the launcher so when you click play it loses functionality or it makes it so you can't really click it?
I have tried many versions of wine, I have tried many versions of runners. I am asking for help to fine a work around to this issue. In the past, after updates to this game there has been some modification to the ca-certificate that also seems to block access. I had tried to update these with some older Thawte certs that were supposed to be the original working ones but to no avail.
There are many of us out there who love playing this game on Linux/Lutris and would very much like a patch or something to help get around this issue.

Basically running it with the binary located here: github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.20-GE-1 resolves the issues. We are still working on the wine-staging implementation and you may follow or refer to the forum link above for updates/progress. Hope this helps.

I managed to get the game to work as mentioned in my other post.
I run the game through steam and as of now using GE Proton version 6.20-GE-1 makes the game work fine.
