What works
Everything tested so far. Game loads up and seems to run fine (with workarounds).
What does not
Problems were experienced with the videos and switching screen resolutions (workarounds listed below).
Workarounds
I had to install wmp9 and directshow for the videos to work. Otherwise, the videos played, but were scrambled (possibly using the wrong codec?). I suspect quartz and qasf are critical, since the videos are .asf files.
I had to write a very short (3-line) script to use xrandr before and after running the game to switch the screen resolution. Otherwise, there seemed to be an issue with switching the resolution back afterwards, which was causing problems with my screen:
xrandr -s 640x480
env WINEPREFIX="/home/sandbox/.wine32_gork" wine ./gorky17.exe
xrandr -s 1920x1080
