Text messaging works.
Chat and Group Chats work.
Kakao Voice calls work *
Kakao Friends Classic emoticons work.
Emoticons from the recents tab work. Not all emoticons will find their way there.
When wishing a happy birthday the background will change.
Can send files.
Screen capture works
Chat History backup works
Changing fonts works
Kakao Mail works
Kakao Calendar works
TalkDrive works but can't download.
KakaoTV works by opening a browser window.
KakaoStory works by opening a browser window
KakaoLab opens
Notices opens in a browser.
Help opens in a browser window.
What does not
Sometimes voice calls don't work because of the microphone.
Would not play media files, either video or audio because they wouldn't download.
Cannot open an mp3 file because no program found to open it.
Could not add emoticons except KakaoFriends Classic emoticons. Basic emoticons would not find their way into a chat.
Error was: fixme:richedit:draw_ole Couldn't get storage medium
Does not show Hangul fonts when setting Chat Room Settings.
Chat Backup runs to 99% and then hangs.
Problems with backup and downloading files seems to be caused by KakaoTalk not having permission to write to a windows folder.

This is a well-known issue and you can easily search about this on the web.
I had the same issue, but hamonikr.org/used_hamonikr/82280 has solved my problem.
