What works

Standalone mode, plugin mode, loading libraries, creating nkis, Libraries tab populates from native Access, MIDI input.

What does not

WASAPI audio does not work at all in Standalone mode.

Drag and drop from other applications sometimes causes issues. Modal dialogs like "Missing Content", "Kontakt Version Too Old", batch resave prompts, etc, will render as a black box and freeze the application if the dialog was triggered by a drag and drop operation from an outside file manager. Dragging samples into Kontakt from Nautilus will sometimes cause Kontakt to freeze.

MIDI devices do not update while Kontakt is running.

Collect Samples / Batch Compress fails when writing wav to wav. The first sample in each nki is correctly written, then fails with a disk i/o error. Wav to ncw works fine.

Creator Tools does not work.

Workarounds

Use an ASIO driver. I suggest WineASIO if you can get it to work reliably. Currently I'm using FLStudio ASIO through WINE, which has not fantastic latency but has been very stable. ASIO4ALL through WINE is also an option.

To avoid using drag and drop, use the built in Kontakt file browser or the file menu. Modal dialogs triggered from these places render correctly and do not freeze the application.

Restart Kontakt to refresh the list of connected MIDI devices.
