Amazon Music

What works

The app is able to stream music in HD. (The app reports it's able to play back at 24 bit / 48 kHz which is the max my hardware supports.)

What does not

The key bindings to my keyboard's Play/Pause, Next, and Back buttons don't work.

Initially when I would run the application, I would get an error dialog that says "No update.ini file found in C:\users\\AppData\Local\Amazon Music/update.ini". I was able to dismiss this error and proceed with using the application.

Workarounds

I created an empty update.ini file in the location referenced by the error dialog and after that the error stopped popping up when starting Amazon Music.

Also, I had to install "all fonts" using winetricks in order for the fonts in the app to look normal. Initially I just had the "core fonts" installed and the font didn't match what you see in the web player or the Windows desktop app. With "all fonts" installed the text looks pretty much the same.

What was not tested

Streaming in higher fidelity than 24 bit / 48 kHz.

Additional Comments

Per guidance I found online, I installed Amazon Music in a Windows 10 wine prefix that had DXVK installed in it. I first tried it in the 8.0 stable version of wine but the application did not work once installed, so I switched to 8.1-staging and achieved the results described in this submission.
