What works

  • I was able to create virtual floppy images in the environment, and save them to my system.
  • WinImage was successfully* able to read data from my DVD drive, and save it to an ISO file. (*See "what does not work" section.)
  • Successfully is able to read ISO and IMA files.

What does not

  • WinImage had problems detecting my floppy drive, saying that it was possibly being used by another process.

  • Ripping files from a DVD drive worked for the most part, but when at 99% it stalls for a few minutes and results in a "Disk Access error 21: Not ready." message box to appear.

Additional Comments

Due to this very limited nature of feature functionality, I would not recommend this application be used on Linux, but some functionality still remains whilst using Wine.

Still though, just use another program.
