Pen Pressure and some new Work Arounds
by CCJ98 on Monday February 6th 2023, 13:24
I did some testing with Clip Studio Paint and the latest version of Wine 8.0 while not much has changed I was able to run Clip Studio Paint in KDE Plasma under Wayland. Even had pen pressure, but now we got the exact same bugs as on X11. So at least it's on par with it now. I found a new workaround to the workflow as far as Control + Z for Undo. I remapped the key to just X on the keyboard in Clip, and it worked without the pen flicker. Hopefully Clip 2.0 will be using a new engine or something, as long as they are using this looks like we'll never get these bugs wiped out. While I see lots of improvements in gaming, very little is happening on the production Application side in Wine.

Hi. How did you get the pressure sensitivity to work? I am running v2.0.1 and I don't see any modifier key problems. But I can't get the pressure sensitivity working. I am on Arch Linux, KDE Plasma v5.27.5, Wayland.

Forgot to mention that I am running it through Lutris with lutris-7.2.2-x86_64 wine version. I didn't use the Lutris install script for CSP.

You will have to be using Wine 8.0 or higher. If Lutris allows you to install Wine 8 try that. But if you install it Vanilla without Lutris you'll be able to achieve that as well. So far my 2.0 tests haven't gone that well since Clip has gone all in on having their software phone home constantly so really no way to activate it and keep it activated.
