What does not

Some games require admin permissions to launch (C&C Ultimate Collection, Mass Effect 1) and will error out during launch. I was unable to find workarounds.

Workarounds

  • corefonts
  • d3dcompiler_47
  • DXVK

The following were game specific:

  • d3dx9
  • d3dcompiler_43
  • dotnet40

What was not tested

Games requiring admin permissions were not tested because they refused to launch.

Additional Comments

DXVK 1.9.4 was required to fix D3D11 errors about shared resources when launching some games. Some games were able to use newer DXVK (2.0)

Problem with older Games

Odler games, like Red Alert 2 fail to launch. EA App says it needs to be elevated (probably rights elevation) to run them, does something and then shows an error message. There does not seem to be a way to launch the game. At least I did not find a workaround.

Can I investigate this further somehow? Or is this a known problem?
