What works

The game installs but the game doesn't start using the standard build of Wine with the builtin D3D. 

Workarounds need to be done to get the game running.

What does not

Using just standard Wine build the game doesn't start and shows a message about the videocard not supporting DirectX 12.

Game menu loads and it can be started. When the actual gameplay/benchmark starts the game crashes unless additional workarounds are done.

The game freezes immediately when benchmark/gameplay is started (early versions 1.0.x didn't have this problem)

Game may run slow-motion(not caused by slow cpu)

Workarounds

The latest versions of dxvk is needed to get the game to load and "see" the DirectX 12 videocard. The test was done with dxvk 2.1 and vkd3d 2.8. It's a DX12-only game(no dx11) so it runs with vkd3d

To fix the slow-motion for Intel CPUs a parameter needs to be added to the kernel at boot intel_pstate=disable .For AMD CPUS there is an amd_pstate parameter. This will allow the game engine to run the game at the correct speed.

To prevent the game from freezing the FPS needs to be capped. The internal game v-sync and FPS cap from video options doesn't seem to work so I used an external app to cap the FPS in opengl/dxvk games. I used mangohud and the FPS is capped at 50. Any app should work as long as it actually caps the FPS. The game is run in full-screen(not window or borderless-window) and the v-sync is off.

With this workarounds the game runs stable, no crashes yet after several hours.

Additional Comments

Older versions of dxvk/vkd3d are unstable and the game crashes often.

New video card drivers are needed, for Nvidia latest is 525.105.17. The game crashed with older 525.78 drivers
