VSDC non-linear video editor

What works

Without the described below workaround, the software doesn't start. You need ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll

Then the program starts and if feels usable, but it isn't.

You can import videos but when you try to preview them or preview a scene, you only see the first frame.

You can add filters and effects to your imported files but the properties windows stays empty, so you can't adjust an effect.

What does not

Playing videos doesn't work.

Parameters are not shown and can't be modified.

The 64 bit version doesn't start but there is no 64 bit ole and oleaut dll winetricks but possibly this would make it start.

Workarounds

Install in its own wine prefix:

env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winevsdc wineboot --init

env WINEPREFIX=~/.winevsdc wine video_editor_x32.exe

Then install ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll:

env WINEPREFIX=~/.winevsdc winetricks ole32

env WINEPREFIX=~/.winevsdc winetricks oleaut32

Start with (or the desktop icon):

env WINEPREFIX=~/.winevsdc wine 'C:\Program Files\FlashIntegro\VideoEditor\VideoEditor.exe'

What was not tested

Everything else, the program has tons of features and effects but I stopped testing when video playback wasn't working.
