Original & Gold editions
Game installation, gameplay.
What does not
Game videos: Intel Indeo video codec - required for mission-briefing and cutscene videos - won't install.
Video mode switching between in-game-menu and gameplay - results in game-menu-screen-sized region being rendered only, inside the gameplay resolution screen. Make sense?!
Actual mode switching works, but rendering is masked to a game-menu sized region in top left corner.
EAX audio not supported.
Finally, the mouse cursor will not disappear from the window! An XWindows hack (unclutter) would work, but shouldn't fullscreen hide mouse cursor?
What was not tested
Haven't gone though entire game under Wine
One of my favourite games, with a big cult (including me) following - very close to working fully!

Thief is an old game that will have problems on modern hardware, Windows or Wine. Therefore you must install TFix to run the game.
TFix might prompt a warning on language settings for the GOG version: you can safely ignore it.
It may prompt an error message at the end of the process. Do not confirm or it will revert the install. Kill wine instead.
