after installing the program seems to crash. just answer the message which is hidden behind the splash with "OK" by pressing Enter (you might have to focus the window first). GUI is being drawn slowly. Change Edit>Preferences>General>Viewport>Scheme from BlueBerry to any of the other Schemes. Disabling Anti-Aliasing in the Xserver-Settings makes the Viewport work slightly better.
