Everything works with IPX patch and overriding libraries in winecfg (ddraw and winsock32).
What does not
Completely random freezes where "Red Alert2 has encountered an unexpected error." and you are forced to alt-fX to kill the process and return to X.
X will then use the resolution you used in the game, in my case 1024x768.
Res can be changed in RA2MD.ini og RA2.ini
What was not tested
Campaign. The game runs noticeably slower than in Windows. Have not compared it to a VirtualBox Windows install, but I imagine Wine runs it faster.
Would have rated it Platinum if there was no freezes as the slowdown is not really an issue if your playing alone. In a multiplayer LAN setup with other Windows machines the game slows down for everyone. PS: I use wine-staging with enabled extra hardware acceleration with VA-API but have tried disabling everything but crashes still occur.
