What works

Installation works after base system installed with WineTools. Game play works after some work with configuration and in-game options. Install version 1.0 after base system WineTools install. Download patch / unrar and run needs no further configuration then that. Once patched download no-cd crack assuming it is legal for you to do so. rename Tropico2.ini file to something else. winecfg tested on is as follows: Windows 98 / removed double buffering added emulated desktop changed vertex shader to emulated and disabled pixel shader. After launching game and started single player sandbox flickering ensues ingame. Try to navigate to options menuand click software renderer.

What does not

Unknown yet more testing is required.

Laggy scrolling
by Bogdan Marginean on Tuesday February 14th 2017, 7:34
In case you run into issues with the map scrolling being very laggy (especially when zoomed out), go to the graphics options in-game and switch to software mode. This is an issue I encountered on Windows too. The game runs 100% smooth afterwards.

There is some difference as far as the visual quality goes but you have to look really close to see it, I don't mind it at all.
