Installation of the gog version fails with a runtime error if you don't use these switches: /NOGUI /SILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES So just use: wine setup-gog.exe /NOGUI /SILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES Then it was able to install. I also installed d3d9x after reading it would help.
