What works

Most things work, as usual USS is only available when running it as a root.

What does not

The most annoying problem with eMule is its crash-prone attitude: the program, which can patiently work for weeks under Windows without a single hitch, will crash more or less frequently under Wine.

Different versions of Wine apparently have different crash proneness. Some of them will run my mule for a couple of days, while 1.0-rc1 last only some hours at most. This happens both using my distro's packaged or my own version compiled from the sources; if this is not a problem with Debian, it's likely to be a regression, I could use the mule for several days continuously last year (it would never last as long as under Windows, anyway)

Apart from that, there's the usual slew of bugs which apparently we can't get rid of: CPU hogging and a search field which locks itself are the most frequently encountered.

Additional Comments

I'm giving it a bronze rating because the constant crashing actually hinders the usability of eMule which, after all, is meant to be left running in the background without paying too much attention to it.

Sometimes you can enter text into the search tab but be unable to change it, even though a blinking cursor will be there.

Switching to another tab on the eMule window and coming back to the "Search" tab will return the input field into a usable state, and cut/paste functionality will still work regardless.
