What works

The program installs.

The program runs. Its interface looks just like it does in Windoze. It is able to unrar single or multipart .rar files. With persistance it will repair damaged .rar files using the information contained in .par files. Works with several different archive techniques, par and par2.

Persistance = when the program crashes ignore the error messages and try a couple of more times. Eventually it will repair the damaged files and you will be able to unpack the .rar files.

What does not

The archive repair process crashes. Sometimes with messages about inability to access files - fix any file permissions before using the progaram. At other times it just crashes. But it IS working.

NewzToolz does not unpack pasword protected archives of course it doesn't under Windoze either!

Workarounds

What was not tested

The included concatinator program. The function to decode "yenc" encoded files - Pan does that just fine.

Also ran with earlier Wine releases such as 20050725 from the Ubuntu repository. Will NOT run under Wine 0.9.8
