Installing, Playing, Saving Loading everything I tested. Beat the entire game under wine.
What does not
There is some particular shader involved with fire (and psi-blast) that, when using FBO causes the screen to black out.
What was not tested
Nothing at all.
In my experience the optimal game config is as follows: renderMode = fbo UseGLSL = enabled This will result in the game working 99.9%. I was able to beat the game with these settings. _rarely_ did the game crash. If it did it was during a load. Usually a second try would work. If the game crashed consistently, switched to pbuffer, got past the crash, saved, switched back to fbo. The issue mentioned above with the screen blacking out for a couple seconds with fire is ignore-able for everything but _the very very last level_. On this level i had to ingame via the Graphics options disable "Fsfx" and "advanced shaders". This resulted in zero graphical glitches from what I can see. Fire was still visible and didn't cause screen blacking. Game did look less pretty of course, but if it enables you to beat the last level so be it. Running with pbuffer and glsl can result in odd rendering artifacts covering the entire screen. Using backbuffer and GLSL just was awkward. Too many graphical glitches to describe. Playing withoug GLSL for the most part is fine on all modes... just no fire or fancy effects which can have occasional gameplay consequences (not knowing when to jump over fire etc.)
