What works
Game installs and appears run properly. Once single left mouse button click needing both mouse buttons at the same time was corrected via a work around (see below), I could change all the in game graphical settings to high and 1600x1200 resolution display which would show with the correct aspect ratio and there did not appear to be any graphical flaws that I could see.
What does not
The mouse would not do a single left click without pressing both left and right mouse buttons. The game was unusable this way as I could not open drop down menus to change game settings. The work around that worked for me was to open ".wine/drive_c/users/gaming/Application Data/Microsoft Games/Rise of Nations/rise2.ini" in notepad and change the following setting from 0 to 1.
ForceLowCPUBackgroundVid=0
Sound does not work at all. I couldn't find a work around that worked that didn't involve using winetricks which I don't want to use so that the developers here have the proper data they need to fix this issue.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Playing any full game. I just spent a few minutes in a quick game to see if things worked.
