installer works. gameplay requires that "Emulate Virtual Desktop" be enabled. Also, on Fedora 8, to work with PulseAudio, you have to use 'padsp' to launch wine. this also requires that you run 'padsp winecfg' and select OSS as the sound driver.
performance is much improved if you set VideoMemorySize setting with regedit.
What does not
display of punctuation marks show up as white rectangles. text is still readable. doesn't affect game play.
you'll need a "no CD" crack as it won't detect the CD even if you have a legit CD.
What was not tested
network game play
everything seems to work. "shadow" effects seem a little buggy, but if you set it to "Extreme" it looks great. On lower settings, the shadow becomes a "dark square" under the units.
