What works

You _can_ play, but it is extremely laggy(4-8 FPS) and sprites are like... squared...

What does not

GUI doesn't work, it's seen like half a second each refresh, and then it's blacked out(May be because VB controls are drawn over by DirectDraw's black fill)

What was not tested

Anything that involves actually playing, because it's hella slow.

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:

HowTo / Notes

2013-05-04 Admin note: the instructions below are very old and may not apply to current Wine.

You need to get the following native dlls for this game to work:

  • aamd532.dll
  • cswsk32.ocx
  • msinet.ocx
  • msvcrt.dll
  • riched20.dll
  • comdlg32.ocx
  • dx7vb.dll
  • mfc42.dll
  • msvbvm60.dll
  • mswinsck.ocx
  • richtx32.ocx

Copy them all to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. Then, try registering all these dlls with regsvr32, with 'wine regsvr dllname.dll'

Then, open winecfg, there search where it says Add application, and add Argentum.exe, and make it have msvcrt and riched20 as native library overrides.

If you want the GUI to work, you should open 'wine regedit' and search for the following key:

There add the key 'DirectDrawRenderer' and set it's value to 'opengl', the GUI should work now.
