What works

Installation, strategic Map, Battles (except moving the Cam by Mouse), Faction Window (except Senate Window), Sound.

What does not

Battlecam can not be moved by pushing the Mouse to the Window Edges (works with Keyboard).

Battlecam can not be rotated with the mouse (seems this doesn't work with Keyboard either).

Senate Window crashes the Game when invoked via the Factions -> Senate Tab.

Additional Comments

I rate it Bronze because of the Mouse-Bug, Battles are difficult if one can not rotate the Mouse, seeing the Senate Window would also be good (i guess this crashes because of some video played when entering the window). In general the Game works fine if you notate your Senate Missions and keep track of the Rounds to finish them. As a "workaround" to the "mouse can not rotate Battlecam"-Thing you can doubleclick the Unit you want to have a correct view on the Battlefield.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

If you have any problems with playing Rome, you should try this:

  1. Use the lowest graphic settings, because one of them crashes the game
  2. Type wine regedit in a terminal. Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Wine / Direct3D or create it if it doesn't exist. Now you have to add two new keys.DirectDrawRenderer with the string value opengl and VideoMemorySize with the string value of you graphic memory size, for example 512 or 256.

If you want to post a test please write in it, if you have an ATI/AMD,Nvidia,or any other graphic card, because they can cause different problems
