Running the game in a virtual desktop.
Starting a new single-player game.
Creating a character.
Playing the game.
What does not
Installing the game (setup.exe is 16-bit, which won't run due to some kind of XCode issue). Had to copy a working install from Linux machine.
Running the game full-screen (X11 server on MacOS won't allow resolution change). I had to run in virtual desktop mode instead, which results in a tiny 640x480 window regardless of the virtual desktop resolution (because the game switches to what it thinks is full screen, causing Wine to resize the virtual desktop window).Scrolling the screen with the mouse (can't practically move pointer to edge without it going outside the window).
What was not tested
Borderline garbage rating due to Mac port limitations with 16-bit installer and full-screen.
