What works

Game installing works after changing windows mode to "Windows 98" in wine configure.
After install patch 1.2 and a little modify of regedit, the mission finally runs.

Here is how to get it the game run:
Using virtual desktop mode, first time start the game, after the main menu appears, go to INSTANT ACTION, create a name and start a mission, as soon as press "launch" button, the game will popup error dialog and crash, just close or kill the game.

Then do the following:
open regedit, find [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroProse\MechWarrior 3\1.0]
Change "HWCardDev"=dword:00000001 To "HWCardDev"=dword:00000000
this will set game 3D device to HAL mode.
After that, run the game again, if you go to Options>Graphics&Audio, you will see the 3D is now DirectDraw HAL.

NOW you can go to INSTANT ACTION or other mode and start a mssion, no more error occurs, the mission runs well.

However, the error dialog still occurred and crashed when you tried to quit the game.
