What works
Initially on installing file advised that will not run. Only works for W95/98.
Go into config for wine
Applications, > Add application : Setup
change windows version to Win98
Setup up worked. Requested cd to play. Ran MW3Patch before deleting mech3.exe file.
Game ran, will full graphics in High, sound 10/10

unable to change the keyboard config. but really. who cares.

http://www.mechwarrior3.org/wordpress/download-manager.php?id=22 require this patch to run, copy in same folder. Delete Mech3, then run patch.
