Star Wars: Empire at War

What works

Everything with only a few exceptions listed below.

What does not

• Every time the application is launched I get a warning that sounds might not work. Ignore this message, the audio works fine with the default settings most of the time.
  
• When launching a new campaign the story description that is supposed to scroll across the screen (like in the movies) is not visible. Simply wait and the introduction continues on.
• Occasionally after playing for several hours the sounds suddenly dissappear. Restart the game to restore sound.

Additional Comments

Empire at War on Ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit) installs and runs almost perfectly with the 1.05 patch. It almost deserves a Gold rating, but the occasional sound problem and the fact that I have not tested multiplayer makes it a Silver rating so far. The copy protection almost certainly requires a No-CD patch but you will not find any such material here.
