What works

installing in a clean 32bit prefix, 

patching (official patch 1.1 and sneaky upgrade 1.1.0), 

intro, main menu, 

sound, 

multicore-endlessly-repeat-intro-bug is gone, taskset isn't needed anymore

What does not

When starting 'Thief' in wine 3.3, there's a very low fps-rate that makes the game unplayable.

(Un)fortunately I don't have a Windows machine. Because of that I compared the 3.3 installation to a 1.6.2 'playonlinux'-installation, providing a wine version which was rated 'platinum' in Ubuntu 14.04 (see AppDB: 1.1.0 - sneaky upgrade). There are some artifacts in the intro movies but the game itself works perfectly. No *.dlls required.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Playing the game, loading, saving, changing settings (menu unresponsive)...

Sometimes the CDROM seems to be gone, then the game won't launch and exits with an error...

Latest 'Sneaky Upgrade' is 1.1.8, I haven't tested this version for 1.1.0 is the latest version listed in AppDB...
