Thief: Deadly Shadows in a bundled DVD version that came with the buy of a PC.
Installing, patching, cutscenes, menus, playing...
What does not
The intro videos are a little bit croppy (minor).
Mouse "escapes" window (bug 6971).
If you don't use taskset (s. below), the main intro movie repeats endlessly.
Configuring user-defined keys can be difficult, if you want to use the "arrow keys" (minor).
What was not tested
Going beyond mission#2. Nevertheless I experienced NO crashes up to this point, so the rest of the game seems to work as well.
I've written a short script to enable mousewarp (download dinput.dll.so from http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15550 and copy to /usr/lib/wine [backup you original dinput.dll.so FIRST]). Make sure that taskset (for multicore-CPUs only) is installed and run the script. #!/bin/sh # This scripts starts "Thief III" with hacked dinput.dll.so # and taskset configured for using only one CPU core. cd /home/youruser/.wine/drive_c/path/to/your/T3Main.exe export WINEFORCEMOUSEWARP=yes; taskset -c 1 wine ./T3Main.exe There's some work to do (rating silver), but it's worth doing it. Great game!
