- Wine Staging works better
- Fullscreen @1080p
What does not
- I'm not sure if there is an intro video, there is just some text but without audio or video, it seems strange.
What was not tested
- I just did a short gameplay
Platinum :) Before launching the game set your native resolution by editing the /path/to/Shadowgrounds/Config/option.txt file. I played at maximum settings and it works better with Wine Staging! ~·~·~·~·~ I uploaded some screenshots (comparing Wine vs Wine Staging) on my blog: https://manerosss.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/gamingonlinux/ ~·~·~·~·~ Antergos + OpenBox Nvidia 367.35 Wine 1.9.14 Gallium Nine (AUR) Phenom II x2 511 Gainward GTX 650 1gb 4gb ddr3 500GB HDD 7200 rpm

To get Shadowgrounds steam version working, first install Steam following the instructions on the appdb steam page here
Once steam is running properly download the game (or restore from backup). Now two DLLs will need to be supplied in order for Shadowgrounds to work:
The first is involved in coding/decoding windows media format files, and the second streams asf.
The best place to source these two files is from an install of Windows XP that has the latest service packs and security updates applied - they will be found in "%sysdir%/windows/system32/". They can be found online but old versions may not provide the necessary functionality for future updates of Shadowgrounds.
Place the DLLs into wine's windows system32 folder, default location of:
Now you can launch the game from from Steam.
If the game does not launch from steam (i.e. nothing happens), try to start it from a command line to check what error(s) are reported. The exe is located in:
wine start Shadowgrounds.exe
In a terminal from the above directory to start the game manually
- note the steam code won't allow the game to run standalone - if you get a message saying "Application error, Failed to find Steam." then Shadowgrounds' dependencies are met and this is normal behaviour under proprietary windows - now launch it from steam to start the game.
The Shadowgrounds configuration tool can be started from the same location with
wine start ShadowgroundsLauncher.exe
If you receive an error in the form "Application error, The procedure * could not be located in the DLL storm3dv2.dll" then the version of wmvcore.dll being called by storm3dv2.dll is too old for the release of Shadowgrounds you are trying to run.
Please report your test results whatever they were, thanks!
