HowTo / Notes

Level Editor

Hold Ctrl and press "E" 6 times or just hold down "E" in the main menu until the level editor opens.

Network play

For network play, you need to install IPX.

Add ipx to your network card like this: (Your network interface name - eth0 - might be different)

# ipx_interface add -p eth0 802.2 0x12345678

Use ip a to check if network is working.

IPX will be automatically removed after reboot. You can also remove it manually like this:

# ipx_interface del eth0 802.2

IPX compatibility

IPX does not work on the following wireless cards:

  • Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03)
  • Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)

IPX works fine on the following wireless card:

  • Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100

IPX works fine on the following wired cards:

  • Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 02)
  • Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 03)
Various fixes for different issues

The following list contains fixes mentioned in the comments, for some issues that you might or might not encounter.

  • If you receive the following message: "preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000 please report", you should follow the instruction on the Wine Wiki.
  • If you get an error like "clue:'graf_print: coords of screen" when clicking "Start Game", try unplugging your gamepad.
  • The level editor opens after holding ctrl and pressing E 6 times (or holding it), only holding E is not enough.
