Game installed and run using cd. Only 1.32 patch was applied, but all 1.x versions should run just as well. Mouse movement would freeze the whole game for 1-1.5 seconds at a time, but this was corrected by overriding Wine's dinput.dll with the one found on the game cd. After the override, the game runs just as smoothly as it had on Windows. Audio occasionally stutters. Voice-overs are not heard from the very beginning, but are heard from 1-2 seconds into the audio file. This may be an ALSA-output issue, or it may be Wine, but it is present for me in a few other games as well.

­1) Download .exe patch here: Knights And Merchants Linux Patch.exe
Rename to .exe and put in the game folder

2) Install dosbox to run patch

$ sudo apt-get install dosbox

3) Insert on dosbox config file (~/.dosbox/dosbox-x.xx.conf) this lines:

mount c (path to your game folder)­
c:
KNIGHT~1.EXE

4) Save and run dosbox on terminal

5) Enter commands in this order

y, enter, y, y, y

6) Close dosbox and play normally
