What works

OnLine ReadMe: http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/contractjack/contractjack_demo_mp.txt

Installation, Shortcut placed on KDE 3.5.2 desktop, Starting the demo from the desktop shortcut or manually from the command line via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Sierra/Contract JACK (MultiDemo)$ wine ContractJackMultiDemo.exe" without quotes. Upon starting the demo a small window appears with a few options (and a sound effect) to select and some of the options work but starting the game doesn't (see what doesn't work).

What does not

Gameplay (received error message popup "A hardware TnL device was unable to be created. This could be due to either not having DirectX 8.1 installed or not having a hardware TnL capable video card. Both of these are required to play Contract Jack (MultiDemo) and although you can continue to play the game by pressing OK, please note that it is not officially supported and may result in crashes, lockups, and poor performance" I clicked OK to proceed and received this popup: "Error initializing the renderer. In order to play Contract Jack (MultiDemo) you must have DirectX 8.1 installed." I clicked OK and the program exited. In addition to the demo (with the executable file listed in my feedback of What Works) there is another executable file called "ContractJackServer.exe" which I tried running but it popped up with a failure to start server message and exited.
