What works
Installation, menu operation, game setup, some aspects of gameplay. The sound must be disabled (which i did in winecfg) for the gameplay to work at all; otherwise the game crashes on the start menu.
What does not
Technological advancements cause the game to crash; I was not able to proceed past 3920 B.C. This effectively made the game unplayable. Sound and video, including the introductory movie, also do not work.

Most aspects of gameplay; only about four turns were playable before the game crashed.
