What works
Initializing, saving/loading, and basic gameplay work.
Initially, sound effects were delayed (e.g. the firing sound for the first weapon came after the bullet had already disappeared), but setting the default sample rate to the maximum possible under WINE Config's Audio settings solved the problem.
What does not
Fade in / fade out effects do not work.
Workarounds
What was not tested
A full playthrough of the game.

Additional Comments
The test system was using proprietary ATI Graphics Card drivers (FGLRX). There have been a few mods of Cave Story released. A version of a mod in progress (WTF Story 0.4, which can be downloaded from http://wtfstory.wordpress.com/downloads-page/) was also tested, and ran with no problems save the fade in / fade out effects.
