What works

-Installing the game (no poblems)

-Starting the game (with no-cd-crack)

-Saving/loading

-Post processing effects (with the registry specifications from here but I don't use the alsa thing (this I figured out manually) last clause)

-Playing the game

I start the game with:

xmodmap Xmodmap_hitman
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine/hbm/ nice -15 wine HitmanBloodMoney.exe
xmodmap Xmodmap_default

For listening Sound I changed in the Audiotab():
-Alsa and OSS driver
-Hardware acceleration: Full
-Driver emulation
-Sampling rate: 22050
-Bits per sampling rate:16

With this settings I can play smooth:
-Show blood
-Subtitle
-PIP-Camera

-Shadows: no
-Postfilter: low
-Detaildepth: high
-Gamma: 1.0
-Anisotropic filtering: deactivated
-Texture-resolution: high
-Vertical sync: no
-Resolution: 1280x1024

What does not

-Setting controls, and seeing the control scheme (Workaround: use xmodmap (see comment))

-Post processing effects and Shadows are very laggy. (Game laggs)

-Shadows do not function properly.

-Graphical glitches

-Text on the ingame interface in the top left corner is a little scrambled but you can read the main functions. (like drop body ....)

-Starting the game, initially.
You need two DLL files:
msvcr71.dll
d3dx9_27.dll

Place the dlls in the game folder.

Game crashes (see bug) if you don't use WINEPREFIX

HowTo / Notes

dll overide

game require d3dx9_27.dll and d3dx9_36.dll from native environment. can be automatically installed via winetricks:

winetricks d3dx9

OpenGL

While submitting test data, please, specify your OpenGL info. You can get it with

glxinfo | grep renderer -A1

command. output would be something similar to:

OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R300 (RV515 718A) 20090101  TCL DRI2
OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 7.6-devel

note that version less that 2.0 is not quite enough to play any game

WARNING ATI-cards users

Game may fail to load any level beyond first one due to freaking buggy proprietary driver while working perfectly OK on Nvidia cards.

Test results confirm that so far, so, while adding new test data, please, include your OpenGL specifications.

It is mandatory.

PS: try not to decrease "rating" because of this, since it is, probably, not wine issue at all.
