Finale

What works

Installation of all components runs smoothly - Finale, SmartMusic, Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Can enter and edit music using the following tools: simple entry, lyrics, text, smart shapes, time signature, staff and measure tools.

Printing works quite well. The program will save music files to disk (and backups), although you must provide an extension. Creationg of new folders while saving is possible. Help files are accessible through the installed Adobe Acrobat Reader.

What was not tested

Opening files in Windows was not tested. More complex composition/engraving techniques were not tested (I only wrote a few bars of 4-part harmony). Layout tools and mass mover tools were not tested.

Having no immediate access to an appropriate instrument, MIDI was not used.
