Downloaded DigiGuide v8.4 Build 1125. Right clicked on the .EXE and chose "Open with Wine Windows Program Loader"; had to tag the .EXE as executable and try again. Let it install in the default "C:\Program Files\DigiGuide TV Guide" folder.
DigiGuide then prompts for region and then goes to download the listings. I then got an error "Wine Needs Configuring" but it automatically fired up my default (Linux) browser pointing at the correct support page on their web site saying how to fix it. It said to change an entry on a file; that entry existed twice and I could not see which one was to be changed so I changed both. I had to log into the DigiGuide web site and find my "Display Name" to do this.
The Regedit method does the same thing as editing that file.
"DigiGuide TV Guide" had now appeared as an icon in the Wine menu; clicking on it started DigiGuidewhich asked me to update the listings. Clicked on "Update" and it worked!
Alerts work. So does searching for actors.
