What does not
Nothing does not work.
winecfg. This must run under Windows XP compatibility otherwise it will not work.
The information below this page is out of date. There is no need to perform the mouse patch for example. No need for winetricks. A GECKO download requester will download the necessary module to display the startup screen when first starting AO.
You must install the package: ttf-mscorefonts-installer (at least, at the time of writing: January 2024, Ubuntu-Like OS) otherwise the AWESOMIUM.DLL will crash. It will still allow you to play, but you will not be able to use the shopping terminals and general daily reward pop-up screens. It is now clear that DLL assumes that MS fonts are available by default, otherwise, it crashes with a NULLPTR dereference. This is understandable, since AO is only supported on a Windows platform. For different Linux distributions, the package name or method of install may be different; search for a package that provides MS fonts such as Courier and Times New Roman.
