Selected Test Results

What works

Installs fine, apps launch OK, some are useable.

What does not

Writer (and maybe others as well) cannot create new files. That is: I can open an existing rtf/doc etc file, edit it and save back the changes, but if I try to save a file I am making from scratch, it crashes. Same with the spreadsheet app.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Other apps in the suite not tested. Only Writer and the spreadsheet app.

HowTo / Notes

Install note

Ability requires some basic Microsoft DLLs - MFC, Visual C++ runtime, DAO/JET. Before Ability can be installed, these DLLs must be installed. They can be downloaded here:

http://www.ability.com/download4/mfc/MFCSetup.MSI

http://www.ability.com/download4/jet/JetSetup.exe

And to install:

wine -i msiexec MFCSetup.MSI

wine JetSetup.exe

Also, note that Database runs best with msvcrt.dll set to Native.
