Doyles Room

What works

From a fresh install of Wine version 0.9.8 on a Gentoo system. Install requires Mozilla ActiveX Control. I used the transgaming control package found here: http://downloads.transgaming.com/mozilla_control_downloads/mozcontrol.tgz I also installed Mozilla itself.(Is not required for install) Upon execution of 'wine "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Doyles Room Poker/client.exe"' file nothing happened. Performed Multiple wincfg changes, nothing seemed to help. I installed DirectShow filter package ffdshow from here: http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=Getting+ffdshow Still did not work. Edited winecfg for the following: --Aplication "client.exe" --Windows Version Windows 98 --Libraries mfc42.dll (native, builtin) msvcp60.dll (native, builtin) msvcrt.dll (native, builtin) --Graphics "check" Enable desktop double buffering "check" Allow the window manager to control windows Vertex Shader Support: "Hardware" "check" Allow Pixel Shader(if supported by hardware) --Desktop Integration Default Settings --Drives Default Settings --Audio "checked" ALSA Driver The client.exe then executed properly and I was able to log into the network.

What does not

Lobby tabs are only briefly visible when the mouse is moved over top of them. I am still uable to play at a table without the application freezing on me. I am unsure if sound is working yet or not either due to the fact that I can't load a table. Fonts do not appear correctly (I believe I just need to find the correct ones is all) Still recieve the following error: err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {4955dd33-b159-11d0-8fcf-00aa006bcc59} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {4955dd33-b159-11d0-8fcf-00aa006bcc59} could be created for context 0x1 err:ole:ITypeInfo_fnInvoke did not find member id -514, flags 0x2! err:ole:ITypeInfo_fnInvoke did not find member id -504, flags 0x2!

Actual game play was not tested. Due to the fact I could not get the tables to load yet.

Additional Comments

At this point in time Doyles Room Poker is unplayable. I will continue to work on it and have good hopes yet.
